AdrenaFem Supplement FAQs

AdrenaFem Supplement Facts.jpg
  • How is AdrenaFem different from any other stress supplement?
AdrenaFem is the only scientifically backed nutritional supplement uniquely formulated to support and maintain healthy female stress hormone AND sex hormone levels during periods of chronic stress. Scientific research has shown that women are more vulnerable to the physical and mental effects of stress than men. In addition, chronic stress leads to imbalances in estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA levels which can create a variety of ‘female hormone problems’. AdrenaFem helps to minimize these problems and prevent the need for unnecessary hormone replacement.
  • Is AdrenaFem right for me?
Adrenafem can be taken be any female 18 (eighteen) years of age or older. Women who are pregnant or breast feeding cannot take AdrenaFem. AdrenaFem is especially helpful in the women with the following conditions: 1. Female hormone imbalances due to chronic stress 2. Stress induced menstrual cycle irregularity 3. Stress induced infertility 4. Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) 5. Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) 6. Endometriosis 7. Women in perimenopause 8. Women in menopause 9. Women with a history of breast or endometrial cancer who is not a candidate for hormone replacement therapy
  • What ingredients does AdrenaFem contain?
The adaptogenic herbs found in AdrenaFem have been scientifically shown to support a healthy stress response system, immune system, musculoskeletal system, and neurological system, even if chronic stress is not present. Women taking AdrenaFem will notice an improvement in their focus, memory, mood, immune system function, endurance, and physical performance. AdrenaFem also contains Black Cohosh and Wild Yam Extract which naturally balance and support female hormone levels, especially estrogen and progesterone. Diindolylmethane (DIM) assists the body in properly detoxifying potentially harmful estrogen by-products. This helps to reduce the likelihood of female cancers and other chronic diseases. The nutrients found in AdrenaFem have been shown to be depleted during periods of chronic stress. Vitamins C, B3, B5, and B6 and activated Folic Acid (5-MTHF) are important cofactors in many metabolic pathways of the stress response system. Vitamin C is critical for cortisol production by the adrenal glands. Magnesium is a natural stress response system stabilizer and pain reliever. It is an important cofactor in over 300 bodily functions. It also improves colon motility and helps to improve stress induced GI dysfunction.
  • How long will it take to notice a change in how I feel?
In general, patients can expect to notice symptom improvement within 2 to 4 weeks. In women with menstrual irregularities, PMS, endometriosis, and PCOD, regulation of menstrual cycles may take at least 6 to 8 weeks.
  • How should I take AdrenaFem if I am still having periods?
Women who are still having regular menstrual cycles can start out by taking one capsule daily in the morning. In women who suffer from PMS or PMDD, the dose of AdrenaFem can be increased to one capsule twice daily during the times where PMS/PMDD symptoms are present.

If you are taking other ‘adrenal supplements’, you may no longer need to continue taking them if you begin taking AdrenaFem. Consult with your doctor for guidance.
  • Can I take AdrenaFem if I am taking oral contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy?
Yes. AdrenaFem will not counteract the effectiveness of oral contraceptives. Women on hormone replacement therapy can also safely take AdrenaFem. However, a reduction in their hormone doses may be required. In perimenopausal women who are ages 35 to 50, the use of AdrenaFem may improve female hormone imbalance so that hormone replacement therapy can be delayed.
  • Does AdrenaFem interact with any prescription medications?
Some of the ingredients in AdrenaFem can interfere with the effectiveness of certain heart medications (i.e. Digoxin) and blood thinner medications (Warfarin). AdrenaFem can be taken with thyroid medication, however thyroid hormone levels should be checked 2 to 3 months after beginning AdrenaFem to make sure a change in thyroid hormone medication is not required.
  • What are the potential side effects of AdrenaFem?
Since all of the ingredients contained in AdrenaFem are natural and derived from plants, side effects are minimal. Possible side effects may include GI upset, rash, and headaches. Withania somnifera may increase thyroid hormone levels. Women on hormone replacement therapy may experience mild breast tenderness or vaginal spotting if their hormone replacement therapy doses are not properly adjusted.
  • Do I need hormone replacement therapy if I take AdrenaFem?
At some point, yes. If you are perimenopausal, AdrenaFem alone may help improve your symptoms. However, AdrenaFem alone will not provide the same symptom and health benefits as HRT once a woman has entered menopause. AdrenaFem is not meant to be used as the sole treatment or cure for any medical condition, including those related to female hormone imbalances. It is meant to supplement/support other treatment measures. Women on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may find that the use of AdrenaFem enhances the effectiveness of HRT. In some cases, the doses of HRT can be lowered in women who are also taking AdrenaFem.
